Israel has partially reopened Thursday three major crossings in the Gaza Strip border to allow more humanitarian aid, said a Palestinian official.

Ra’ed Fatouh, coordinator of the Gaza Strip has told the press that Israel warned the Palestinian side that it will reopen the border crossings to allow at least 200 trucks carrying aid into the enclave.

The crossing of Kerem Shalom, located in the southeast of the Gaza Strip and the Karni crossing in eastern Gaza City, will open for trucks with humanitarian aid on board, then the Nahal Oz depot, also in eastern Gaza, will be for the supply of fuel.

According to Mr. Fatouh, 80 trucks of United Nations and other international humanitarian organizations carrying aid, only pass through the point of Kerem Shalom.

Fifty other trucks from the private sector, including 37 trucks with everyday products, edible oil and blankets and 13 trucks carrying fruits and eggs will also be allowed into the Gaza Strip by towards Kerem Shalom.

Israel has completely closed the five crossings in the Gaza Strip since the Hamas movement took control of the enclave in June 2007, although five points have been partially reopened to allow the supply of drugs and food aid and fuel.
