Taiwan: The pandas Tuan Tuan and Yuan Yuan are celebrating Valentine’s Day outdoors
The two pandas offered by mainland China to Taiwan have made their first trip outdoors on Saturday in Taipei Zoo.
According to visitors, pandas, December 23 arrived on the island have adapted well to the external environment and have great fun together all morning.
For Valentine’s Day, many couples have even visited the pandas with bouquets of roses.
Visitors to the zoo had first seen Tuan Tuan and Yuan Yuan (Tuanyuan means “reunion” in Chinese), from January 26 but covered enclosure.
Their outdoor enclosure covers an area of 750 square meters and has been decorated with grass, trees, waterfalls and mountains to simulate the panda habitat.
To prevent escape or be affected by visitors, pandas are separated from the public by a large glass wall.
According to the Taipei Zoo, 330 000 visitors have already come to see the pandas.
