China strengthens food security before the Spring Festival
The Chinese Ministry of Health said Monday that the government would strengthen the law enforcement on the abuse of illegal substances and additives in foods, the approach of the Spring Festival, the traditional Chinese New Year.
Mao Qun’an, spokesman for the ministry, said that a mechanism involving several Administrations has been established to strengthen laws and regulations on food security in seven provinces, including Hebei (north), where occurred on the scandal of melamine to milk.
